Our submissions are open year round. Whether you are a debut author submitting for the first time or an emerging writer looking for the right home for your work, we read every query we receive with genuine care and consideration.
from manuscript to market
post query review
Once we receive your submission, we carefully review your query letter, synopsis, and opening chapters. If your manuscript is the right fit for Blythe Press, we will be in touch to discuss next steps within two weeks.
editorial phase
We work closely with you to refine and polish your manuscript, from structural development through to copy editing and proofreading. This stage is fully covered by Blythe Press — your story deserves to be the best version of itself.
design and formatting
Your book is professionally designed from cover to spine, with interior formatting prepared for both print and digital formats. We work with experienced freelance designers who understand the genre and the market. Authors make a one time production contribution at this stage to cover design and print setup costs — everything else remains on us.
launch
Your title goes live through our global distribution network, making it available to readers, bookstores, and retailers worldwide. We handle the marketing campaign alongside you, building anticipation and getting your story into the hands of the people who need it.
We are actively seeking fantasy and thriller fiction, including contemporary, epic, dark, and dystopian fantasy, as well as psychological, crime, and supernatural thriller. We welcome genre blends, cross-genre works, and debut and emerging voices.
We will consider literary fiction and select non-fiction such as memoirs and self-help on a case by case basis.
Submission guidlines
What Makes Us Reach for the Next Page
We are unapologetically specific about what excites us. If your manuscript features any of the following, we want to hear from you:
Fantasy and thriller in the same breath. Give us tension, magic, and stakes all at once.
Romance that earns its place. A subplot that genuinely impacts the larger story, a bit of spice included, is always welcome.
Settings that do the work. Non-trivial, considered, and specific worlds that feel lived in rather than borrowed.
Adult themes handled with intention. Gore, horror, and darkness do not scare us. If anything, they intrigue us.
Familiar tropes, unfamiliar executions. We love a trope as much as anyone, but we love it more when a writer does something unexpected with it.
Literary fiction sensibility. We care as much about how a character responds to their journey as we do about the journey itself.
Intelligent characters making intelligent decisions. Give us protagonists who think, adapt, and surprise us.
Please Do Not Submit
We are not the right home for:
Romance as a standalone genre. Romantic subplots within a larger narrative are always welcome, but we do not publish romance only manuscripts
Retellings. We are not currently accepting retellings of any kind, including fairy tale, myth, or classic literature retellings. This is a firm boundary, not a case by case consideration.
Non-fiction outside of memoirs and self-help
Graphic novels, children's books, or academic textbooks
Content that portrays real groups of people in a harmful, discriminatory, or derogatory manner
Unfinished manuscripts or first drafts. Please only submit polished, complete works that are ready for editorial review

The first three chapters of your manuscript as a Word document (.docx)
